Knowing if your hotel has accessable rooms should not just be a factual knowledge that you inform people on! You need to answer questions with passion and emotions. Let people know that you care about what they find difficult or let them know that they are known and cared for. Our talks in class have brought me to feel guilty for answering questions and needing to know the right answers. This week has brought a new sense of care to my eyes. I’m very good at just knowing info and just priding general answers when someone asks a question. I have always thought bending down by someone young in a wheelchair would be insulting, but it is reassuring to have heard Brett’s view on the subject. I now know I need to be more sincere and thoughtful when I speak to people with disabilities and know they are probably very concerned with how we, employees care for their struggles.
