I have never thought about how others specifically stereotype others and how different their views are than mine. Writing out your thoughts really makes them seem more real. It was also apparent that hearing other people’s thoughts really made people annoyed. People’s thoughts should just be their own opinion. There is no need to worry about how other people think about your thoughts. Just live your life and be happy.
It is never easy to talk about the dangers of working in the hospitality industry. Recently there has been so much talk of rape and molesting and just foul play in general. The talk we had in class really opened my eyes to how I need to be when I am in a management or a leadership position. There needs to be more training in what to do when a guest is making anyone uncomfortable. I have never had a job where the boss talks about a game-plan for any type of crime happening. At Chick-fil-A, we had a button that would call the cops. We would wear it to take out the garbage to the dumpster at night. We could not go to our cars at night without a male walking us to our cars. Those are great practices, but still no talks about the bad things that could happen to workers and how to really handle that if it happens. I feel as though especially hotels should train their employees and have serious talks about what really could happen and probably will happen.
